Welcome

Join us on

Easter Sunday,

to recognize the

Resurrection of Jesus Christ,

for our first

DRIVE IN CHURCH SERVICE!

Our resurrection Sunday drive up church service will be Sunday, April 12 at 10:30am. A special prayer time will take place at 10:00am.

You will pull up in your vehicle and stay in your vehicle as a family. This IS church. Instead of sitting in pews you will be in the comfort of your vehicle. As Pastor Gabe Skillo preaches, an FM Transmitter will be used to broadcast a signal right into your vehicle over your FM radio. You will just need to set your radio to the specific channel. This will be fun!

Let out a short HONK to say AMEN!

Invite people to come just a you normally would. We can and should still be active as Christians. So, attend church, share your faith and come celebrate the resurrection of our Saviour!

It is needful to say that social distancing should still be respected and honored. If you choose to get out of your vehicle, please respect the space of other. If people do not get out of there vehicle, take that as a message that they would like their space.

CORONA VIRUS ACTIONS

BBC and Friends,

Church is NOT canceled. Please read on.

In times like these, it's so important that we remember Proverbs 3:5-6, "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths." There are many things that you can do to keep yourself healthy and well during the spread of this virus, and those things are good. However, don't forget that trusting the Lord needs to be on top of the list. I like Proverbs 118:8-9, "It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man. It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in princes." Only in times when you don't have the answers is when you can truly have faith. If we had all the answers then there would be no need for faith. I'll encourage you to trust the Lord and put your faith in Him. In putting your faith in Him it will please Him. Hebrews 11:6a, "But without faith it is impossible to please him..."

March 16, President Trump asked politely that any gathering of people stays at 10 people or below. Let's remember a few things about President Trump. He is not against Christians. He has many times encoraged the nation to pray. He brought about 50 pastors into the oval office to pray for him. He declared March 15 as a national day of prayer. He is not a communist or a socialist. With that said, this president is not anti-Christian or anti-church. I believe he is trying to keep the country physically healthy. The Bible says in I Peter 2:13-16, "Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord's sake: whether it be to the king, as supreme; Or unto governors... For so is the will of God..." This request by the president is not one of tyranny or oppression. He is not attempting to limit our religious liberty or rights. Therefore, I do not believe this temporary request is in conflict with the Word of God and our responsibility to put God first. I also do not believe that we are being threatened as Christians by this request.

As pastor of Bible Baptist Church, I want to be prudent and make the right decisions today so we won't have regrets tomorrow. Yes, I do believe this corona virus is much blown out of proportion and that it partly began as a political agenda and has transformed into a movement of fear. However, it is a real virus that is very contageous, sometimes lethal and we should take steps to honor the wishes of our political leader at this time.

I have been in prayer and reflection about what to do and this decision was not easy to come to. Truly, I fear God more that man or pestilence; so, I had to take time to ask if this decision was contrary to God's Word. In my heart and Biblically (which is above all), I don't believe the Lord would be displeased with this decision as it will just be temporary and has a logical purpose. UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE, this is the plan:

Sunday AM and Sunday School on Sunday, April 5:

Sunday, April 5, the church will be open from 9:00am-12:00pm. There is no set or specific service time. This should cut down on the amount of people at any given moment. Please bring your family and fellowship with other believers. I would like to personally pray with every person/family who comes; please meet me up front. You may stay as long as you like, but please honor the requests below. Then, I will give you a Bible lesson to review in your home for Sunday morning, Sunday evening and Wednesday evening. Don't take this as a vacation from God. It will be a great opportunity to strengthen your faith and your family. So, take time to review this lesson in the home, and talk and pray about it.

Sunday AM starting Sunday, April 12:

Drive in church! Read above.

Sunday PM Service and Wednesday Service:

- Every PM and Wednesday evening through April 30 we will do a conference call for all who would like to join in. The conference call will include a few scriptures and a joint prayer time. After the conference call, please review your lesson as a family in your home.

- If you would like to be included in the conference call, call 1-800-941-1840 at the times indicated below. When it asks you for a pin type in: 948937#.

- The Sunday evening conference call will take place at 6:00pm

- The Wednesday evening conference call will take place at 7:00pm

Bus Ministry:

- The bus ministry will not be operating as normal. Please call Brooke Skillo 970-640-4853 or Bill Winchell 970-712-0684 if you would like a ride.

Organized Outreach:

- Until further notice, outreach will need to be done strictly on a personal level. Please continue to be faithful in sharing the love of Christ. Christians need to show the light of Jesus during this time. So, witness, share your faith, love others, be kind, share, etc...

Choir and Choir Practice:

- The choir is a concern because it is over 10 people. The choir must sit closely and breath as they sing. Therefore, I don't believe it's wise to practice or perform until further notice.

Scheduled Church Events:

- Until the end of April, all scheduled church events are canceled. Only the Lord knows and time will tell when things will get back to normal. Easter Sunday and God and Country Day are still on.

- BBC Members: There was a scheduled meeting on March 25 to present the 2nd Quarter budget. That is canceled too. Considering the circumstances, the 1st quarter budget will be duplicated and used for the second quarter.

Giving

- Tithing is still necessary and important. We still have church expenses. Also, we have 7 missionaries that we have committed to support. So, please continue to give.

- You may give on Sunday mornings in the offering plates.

- You may give online at http://biblebaptistchurcholathe.com/online_giving

- Designated giving can be specified on both the tithing envelope and the online giving portal

Here are a few more requests:

- Every person who enters must wash their hands immediately and/or put on hand sanitizer

- Hand shaking is discouraged

- Try to stay at least 6' from people

- If you are sick in any way, do not come

- If you have been caring for someone sick, do not come

- If you have a compromised immune system with a legitimate concern, do not come

- If you are elderly and concerned, do not come

It's important to know that coming to church is an individual choice. The only circumstance I ask that you don't come is if you are sick. Otherwise, come if you would like. My family and I plan to be there. However, if for some reason you do not see me or one of my family members, we will not come if we feel sick or have been caring for someone sick.

Please call me if:

- You have any questions

- You need prayer in a specific area

- You would like me to come over to your home and do a Bible study, counseling or anything specific

- You become sick and need care or food

- You need toilet paper (haha. I had to throw that in there!)

My personal cell phone is 970-497-6887. My email is pastorskillo@gmail.com.

LET ME BE CLEAR. THIS WILL NOT GO ON FOR LONG. AT ANY MOMENT THE SERVICES MAY START BACK UP REGARDLESS OF WHAT THE GOVERNMENT IS SAYING. GOD'S LAW IS AND ALWAYS WILL BE ABOVE MAN'S LAW. THEREFORE, IF AT ANY TIME I FEEL THIS IS NOT NECESSARY OR LEGITIMATE WE WILL START OUR NORMAL SERVICE BACK UP REGARLESS OF WHAT IS BEING ASKED. In Acts 4, Peter and John were commanded not to teach anymore. I like their response in Acts 4:19, "... Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you more than unto God, judge ye. For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard." THIS DECISION IS NOT BEING DONE TO BOW DOWN TO GOVERNMENT AND PUSH ASIDE THE LORD. IT IS BEING DONE AS A MEANS TO PROTECT THE HEALTH OF OUR PEOPLE AND TAKE PRECAUTIONARY MEASURE FOR A SHORT TIME.

No doubt, this is a strange time, but we will get through this. Proverbs 3:25-26, "Be not afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the wicked, when it cometh. For the Lord shall be thy confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken."
