Gabe Skillo

Gabe Skillo was born in Grand Junction, Colorado on August 14, 1985. He grew up in a Christian home and attended a local Christian school. He later attended Central High School in Grand Junction, CO.

While still in high school on February 8, 2004 he accepted Jesus Christ as his Saviour! That changing moment was the beginning of a life-long transformation and pursuit for the Lord. After graduation he and his high school sweetheart, Brooke, went on a mission to find a local church that was doctrinally sound and Biblically correct. Over the next year they found that although each church was genuine and sincere in their teaching, not all churches followed the Bible. Therefore he came to the decision to attend a church that follows God’s Biblical plan; this decision landed him and his future wife at Landmark Baptist Church, an independent Baptist church in Grand Junction, CO. They were baptized on December 26, 2004 and at that time also became members of Landmark Baptist Church. Pastor Barlament officiated their wedding on October 1, 2005.

As time passed the Lord began working on his heart to go into full time Christian service, but it was at Pastor’s School in March, 2006 that he surrendered his life to the Lord. Shortly after he began serving as a layman in junior church. In 2007 he became the bus director and in 2008 he became the youth director still serving as a layman. In October, 2008 he was hired on full time staff serving as Assistant Pastor and later was promoted to Associate Pastor. He was ordained on November 23, 2008.

On April 3, 2016 he followed God’s calling to pastor at Bible Baptist Church! His desire is to see Christians seek the Lord and personally grow in their faith. For him, church is a place to build a closer relationship with the Lord, learn more about Him, and discover one’s ultimate purpose in God’s plan for their life. While God has a specific plan for each individual, Pastor Skillo’s desire is to help each person discover their unique and custom plan that God has for them. “The ministry should be sweet”, he often says. Therefore, each church member’s natural strengths and God given desires are considered first and foremost in their service to God.

Whether you are a person interested in learning more about God or a seasoned Christian, he would love to meet you!

“If you are considering coming to Bible Baptist Church I would like to extend my personal invitation to YOU. I would love to meet you and answer any questions you might have about the Lord and His Word. Bible Baptist Church is a place that you can be yourself and seek God at your pace. I hope to see YOU soon.” Pastor Skillo.
